John B. Kemp

Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of LCA and Chairman of the Board of LCAB

John Kemp is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of LCA and Chairman of the Board of LCA Bank. Under Mr. Kemp’s leadership, Lease Corporation of America Group has underwritten over $1.25 billion of micro and small ticket transactions involving more than 90,000 leases.  As a practicing attorney, Mr. Kemp has devoted his career to representing financial institutions and businesses.  He co-founded the law firm of Kemp, Klein, Umphrey & Endelman and has extensive experience as a drafter of a wide variety of loan documents and as a litigator enforcing these documents.  In later years Mr. Kemp’s practice migrated from trial work to negotiating contractual arrangements including mergers and acquisitions.  As counsel for early software companies, Mr. Kemp created one of the first software licenses ever used and subsequently enforced the licensor’s proprietary interests.  Mr. Kemp also created a number of tax deferral vehicles including the use of reinsurance companies. As an officer and director of several privately held insurance companies, Mr. Kemp has significant lending and investment experience.  Mr. Kemp is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts and his law degree.  In addition to being a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Illinois Bar, he is also a member of the Chicago, Detroit, Oakland County and American Bar Associations.

Jeffery Sugg

Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President

Jeffery Sugg is the Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and a Senior Vice President of Lease Corporation of America. As CFO, he is responsible for all of the financial accounting, treasury and tax matters of LCA. In addition, the Information Technology and Human Resource Departments report to him. Mr. Sugg joined LCA in April 2017. Prior to joining LCA, Mr. Sugg was the Chief Financial Officer at First Indepencence Bank in Detroit, Michigan. Before First Independence Bank, Mr. Sugg was at Paramount Bank in Farmington Hills, Michigan where he served at various times as CEO, President and CFO. Mr. Sugg joined Paramount Bank in 1997 after serving as Chief Financial Officer for three years at Sterling Bank & Trust in Southfield, MI. Mr. Sugg began his career as a Senior Bank Examiner at the Office of Thrift Supervision. He received his bachelor's degree (BBA-Finance) in 1987 from the University of Toledo. As a CFO at various banking institutions, Mr. Sugg has successfully developed and implemented several strategic and capital plans that have resulted in significant earning and common equity accretion. Specifically at First Bank the strategic plan which included revenue enhancement and cost-containment strategies, resulted in record earnings, an upgrade of the bank to a five-star Bauer rating and a regulatory upgrade. At the same time he developed and implemented a capital plan which included a complete restructuring of the holding company's capital stock. The earnings improvement and capital stock restructuring resulted in over a 100% improvement in a less than two-year period to the book value of common equity.

Jeffrey L. Teucke

Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing

Mr. Teucke brings over 35 years of leasing industry experience in sales leadership to Lease Corporation of America.  Prior to joining LCA, he was with UniFi Equipment Finance where he was responsible for leading the business development and sales effort for the equipment finance subsidiary of Bank of Ann Arbor; he also was the liaison for the commercial lending team at the bank.  Previously, Mr. Teucke served as Sales Leader for Dimension Funding and the Technology Group General Manager at EverBank Commercial Finance (now TIAA Commercial Finance).  Prior to EverBank he was the Managing Member of Capital Conduit Partners, LLC, a small-ticket independent leasing and financial service firm he co-founded to address underserved market segments in the healthcare and renewable energy industries.  He additionally served as Senior Vice President of Siemens Financial Services where he held a number of senior management, marketing and corporate development roles.  Mr. Teucke also has held leadership and sales positions in the captive finance unit of AT&T Capital Corporation and its successor organizations, Newcourt Financial and CIT.

Brian C. Kemp

Senior Vice President of Sales

As an LCA Senior Vice President of Sales, Mr. Kemp is responsible for developing and strengthening new and existing medical manufacturer and distributor relationships. Since joining LCA in 1992, Mr. Kemp has been instrumental in the company’s success both in sales and leadership positions. As an Account Executive, Mr. Kemp set numerous sales records including $15 million in new business written – a one-year record that still stands today. Under Mr. Kemp’s direction, LCA was awarded Motorola’s coveted Pinnacle Award for their continuing and exceptional service to Motorola’s independent dealer network. Mr. Kemp is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
