John Kemp is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of LCA and Chairman of the Board of LCA Bank. Under Mr. Kemp’s leadership, Lease Corporation of America Group has underwritten over $1.25 billion of micro and small ticket transactions involving more than 90,000 leases. As a practicing attorney, Mr. Kemp has devoted his career to representing financial institutions and businesses. He co-founded the law firm of Kemp, Klein, Umphrey & Endelman and has extensive experience as a drafter of a wide variety of loan documents and as a litigator enforcing these documents. In later years Mr. Kemp’s practice migrated from trial work to negotiating contractual arrangements including mergers and acquisitions. As counsel for early software companies, Mr. Kemp created one of the first software licenses ever used and subsequently enforced the licensor’s proprietary interests. Mr. Kemp also created a number of tax deferral vehicles including the use of reinsurance companies. As an officer and director of several privately held insurance companies, Mr. Kemp has significant lending and investment experience. Mr. Kemp is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts and his law degree. In addition to being a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Illinois Bar, he is also a member of the Chicago, Detroit, Oakland County and American Bar Associations.
Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President
As the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of LCA, Theodore Katikos is responsible for the financial accounting, treasury and tax matters of LCA. During his tenure, Mr. Katikos has strengthened the company’s relationships with existing financial institutions and has expanded the number of relationships with banks and funding sources. Prior to joining LCA, Mr. Katikos served as North American Finance Officer and Finance Officer Operations Manager for Global Vendor Finance Division of Heller Financial. He also served as a Controller for Dana Commercial Credit’s small-ticket division. Mr. Katikos was responsible for the finance, accounting, and various operational functions of the company. He was involved in the Six Sigma initiative, which culminated in Dana Commercial Credit’s receipt of the distinguished Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award. Mr. Katikos received both his Bachelor’s Degree and his MBA from Wayne State University and his MST (Taxation) from Walsh College. He is also a CPA.
Senior Vice President of Credit and Originations and President of LCAB
Timothy Talbert is LCA’s Senior Vice President of Credit and Originations and President of LCA Bank (LCAB). His principal responsibilities include development and maintenance of LCAB’s credit policies and credit scoring parameters. During his tenure, Mr. Talbert has implemented a number of changes in LCAB’s credit policy and procedures to more accurately reflect the risks inherent in LCA’s core business. Prior to joining LCA, Mr. Talbert served as Senior Vice President of Asset Based Lending for Huntington National Bank. Before joining Huntington National Bank, he spent a number of years with Comerica Bank in a variety of positions and was instrumental in the formation and start-up of Comerica Leasing. In addition to his responsibilities at LCAB, Mr. Talbert serves as a Director, chairman of the compliance committee and member of the audit committee of Vishay Precision Group, a New York Stock Exchange traded manufacturer of resistive foil technology products and as a director of Vishay Intertechnology Inc., a Fortune 1000 Company listed on the NYSE, one of the world's largest manufacturers of discrete semiconductors and passive electronic components. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from University of the Pacific and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame.
Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing
As LCA’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Mr. Kemp is responsible for growing and leading LCA’s sales force, overseeing all levels of sales management and marketing, as well as developing and strengthening new and existing manufacturer relationships. Since joining LCA in 1992, Mr. Kemp has been instrumental in the company’s success both in sales and leadership positions. As an Account Executive, Mr. Kemp set numerous sales records including $15 million in new business written – a one year record that still stands today. Under Mr. Kemp’s leadership, LCA was awarded Motorola’s coveted Pinnacle Award for LCA’s continuing and exceptional service to Motorola’s independent dealer network. He has been the catalyst behind the reconstruction of LCA’s sales team. Through his efforts, LCA has created four unique new sales teams. Mr. Kemp is a graduate of the University of Michigan.
